The rum-runner W T Bell, bound for Glen Cove, went aground at Bayville.

Morgan Park is given as a gift from the Morgan family.
The U.S. Post Office at Glen Cove was built.

Lt. Tiffany Manning MD, a Glen Cove doctor preparing for the D-Day landings at Normandy is killed in Exercise Tiger.
1949
The New York Yacht Club’s famed Station 10 Closes.
1959-60
Nikita Khrushchev (1959) and Fidel Castro (1960) stayed at Killenworth.
1961
The Town Theatre was built down the street to its identical sister theatre, the Glen Cove Theatre. It closed in the 1970s.
1962
Glen Cove High School is built.
1978
La Fuerza Unida is formed to look after the cultural needs of the Hispanic community.
1989
Old Post Office is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
1997
The state first permits residents of Glen Cove to vote on the local school budget.
2016
The Garvies Point Waterfront Redevelopment is approved.
